The workshop will take place in the Ada Lovelace Auditorium, located in Building B at Linköping University. Use Entrance 29B.

There are plenty of local buses connecting the city centre to the university campus. If you are staying at the Comfort Hotel, please allow approximately 30 minutes door-to-door travel time to reach the auditorium.

Daily Schedule

Mon 23 March: 08:30–17:00 workshop - lunch provided
Mon evening: group dinner at participants’ own expense - we will provide restaurant information at the workshop for those that are interested in participating

Tue 24 March: 08:30–16:00 workshop - lunch provided - DFRWS registrants should get their lunch on Tuesday from DFRWS.

We welcome participants from 08:30, and the agenda will begin promptly at 09:00. We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early.

About the Workshop

This Free two-day hands-on workshop provides practical training for law enforcement professionals investigating technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation. It is led by Project VIC International, in collaboration with the Swedish Police, Child Rescue Coalition, MSAB, Web-IQ, and Griffeye/Magnet Forensics. No child exploitation material is used. All labs rely on synthetic, legally permissible datasets.

Workshop Goals

1. Build stronger bonds across organizations who work to safeguard children globally. Bring together the digital forensics science research community, and the CAC investigation and child safeguarding community.

2. Get hands-on/virtual training withsome of the leading commercial digital forensics, investigation, and OSINT tools on the market to buildcapacity, and see how they assist CAC Investigators and Digital Forensic Examiners.

3. Learn what its like being a CACInvestigator today and help students at DFRWS see the opportunities to become  a CAC Investigator.

4. Explore available intelligence sharing mechanisms and open semantic interoperability efforts that help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CAC Investigators.

5. Explorethe impacts of officer wellness programs and technologies, identify needs and guidance for the next generation to build upon these initiatives.

6. Give everyone a summary of the ChildRescue Coalition, plus a deeper dive for law enforcement.

Who Can Attend

This workshop is intended for law enforcement investigators, digital forensic examiners, and DFRWS EU attendees.
In-person participation is limited to 40 participants.
We are preparing an online option for law enforcement officers who cannot travel. It may be difficult to do the exercises remotely.

Requirements

Attendees must bring a Windows computer or computer capable of running Windows in a Virtual Machine. Internet access will be provided onsite. Training computers are not provided.
